Invitation

Participation in the Conference is by invitation only. As in previous conferences, invitations will be extended to researchers nominated by the IUPAP recommended country coordinators with specified quotas. Every attempt will be made to accommodate interested persons in this biennial meeting.

Registration

All invitees are asked to register as soon as possible.
The invitees who are unable to attend to the Conference are asked to notify the ICHEP2000 Secretariat, in order to allow us to extend invitations to other delegates.

If you are unable to register on the Web, you can use the blue registration form which can be found attached to the back of the bulletin #1.

REGISTRATION FEE

The registration fee for a participant, if paid after May 1, 2000 is 45,000 JPY (Japanese Yen) which includes:
• conference pack
• admission to all scientific sessions
• a banquet on July 31 at  Hotel New Otani
• one set of proceedings

PAYMENT

The preferred method of payment is by the following credit cards; VISA, MASTER CARD, DINERS, JCB, and AMEX. Bank Check and Money Order are also accepted, but only in Japanese Yen. No personal check can be accepted!!

We recommend you not to use Bank Checks because Bank Checks involve high bank transaction fees on both sides. If  the bank check is your only choice, please specify one of the following three banks as the "Paying Bank" if possible.

• Sumitomo Bank (Tokyo)
• Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi (Tokyo)
• CITIBANK N.A. (Tokyo)


If your institution is going to make a single payment for multiple participants, a bank check should be sent to us with a list containing:

• your name,
• order number (assigned at the time of online registration),
• item (must be Registration fee), and,
• amount
for each person.

CANCELLATION AND REFUNDS

In case of a cancellation received in writing by the ICHEP2000 Secretariat by July 15, 2000, the registration fee ( less 3,000 JPY cancellation charge ) will be refunded.  Cancellation by e-mail is not accepted.  No refund is made for cancellations received after July 15, 2000.

FINANCIAL SUPPORT

Through financial help from IUPAP, the Conference organizer will be able to assist a limited number of scientists from developing countries or regions, by providing support for the following local expenses:
• waiver of the Conference fee
• living expenses during the conference
• accommodation
Please note that participants are expected to cover their own travel expenses.
Applications for financial support must reach the ICHEP2000 Secretariat no later than April 15, 2000, together with one letter of recommendation.

REGISTRATION DESK

The registration desk will be opened at the Conference site at 4:00 PM on July 26, the day before the Conference begins. The desk will be open until 8:30 PM, late enough for most people arriving at Kansai International Airport. We strongly encourage you to register on July 26, to avoid congestion on the first morning of the Conference.

Free drinks will be served for those who come to register on July 26. In addition, we will offer a free map of Osaka and a free guide to Osaka to help you navigate around the city and find a place to eat.

If you cannot register on July 26, please come earlier on July 27. We will open the registration desk at 8:15 AM on July 27.
